One of the many bull ant variants found across Australia, When kept in captivity, it is important to provide a naturalistic set-up. They require a form of substrate — typically red sand or dirt — in order for their larvae to weave their cocoons, and we recommend they are provided with a lot of space to forage and a diverse diet. Raising a colony is a very long process that requires a great deal of care. These ants have a fierce sting and are very territorial, fiercely defending their nest and chasing intruders for a considerable distance.
