The most commonly found ant in Australia, black pavement ants are spread across the entire country. If you see a small black ant around the house, chances are, it’s these guys. These are considered one of the best ant species for beginner ant keepers, as they are small, require minimal care, and the queens are very easy to raise. Their numbers grow quickly, making them ideal for someone who wants a colony quickly and simply.
