These are one of the smallest ants we offer, with the workers being 1mm or less. They are really, REALLY small. The queens are dark black, which, along with their size, contrasts them against the bright orange of the workers. This species is very slow moving and non-aggressive. They have majors, and even sometimes supermajors! As a result of their size and tendency to slip through small gaps in their enclosures, we rate their care level at medium. NOT suitable for our mesh nests or our outworlds.
Heads up! If you’re buying for a curious child, please make sure they understand that they’re super small, and therefore may be hard to observe. We have other suggestions that are better-suited for beginners.
