These ants get their name from their love of sugary foods. Make sure they have a regular supply of honey or sugar water to go along with their protein. They have both minor and major casts. These sugar ants have an attractive striped gastor and are quite relaxed, however they can bite if they feel threatened. Since this species is more active at night (and mornings and evenings), they are placid and easy to care for, making a great colony for anyone to raise.

Our beautiful queen ant arrived safely and on time in Melbourne for my daughters birthday. Jim has been absolutely fantastic to chat to and was so efficient at answering all my questions before and after purchasing. We are so happy and we will definitely be back when we need to expand our set up. Thank you Antastic :)!
I bought a Camponotus Queen Sugar Ant from Antastic and was delighted. The queen arrived healthy, active, and well-packaged with her brood. The care information was easy to follow, especially for beginners. The ants are beautiful and calm, with great activity at night. Delivery was fast, and Antastic takes good care of shipping live colonies. Highly recommend for anyone interested in ant keeping.
