Care Level: Easy
Founding Type: Claustral
Setup: At the founding stage, a test tube setup or founding chamber with a water source is sufficient. Once the number of workers exceeds ~10, they should be moved into a small nest.
Diet: Does not require feeding until workers arrive. When workers arrive, feed sugars and protein regularly.
Queen size: 20mm
Worker size: 10mm
These ants get their name from their love of sugary foods. Beautiful large ants, these queens are around 2cm in size and have both minor and major workers so make a very interesting colony to raise. Very relaxed and easy to care for and develop quickly. They look very similar to C. Nigriceps, however, they have an orange stripe on their abdomen.

Very happy with purchase, thankyou
Great! She arrived healthy and unstressed all the way to victoria and is going great!
Ordered an ant, got an ant. She is doing great, plenty of brood and already have 3 new workers. Staff so helpful when collecting my order
My favourite queen so far! Love the larger size, and it’s so exciting to see a polymorphic species and differentiated jobs within workers. Furthermore, Camponotus Consorbrinus is very active and inquisitive, which is always exciting for new and old ant-keepers.
They looked beautiful. Really cool animals
