Care Level: Challenging
Founding Type: Semi-Claustral
Setup: At the founding stage, they should be placed in a “tubs and tubes” setup, involving a test tube with water placed in a natural outworld. Once the number of workers exceeds ~6, they should be moved into a small nest.
Diet: Gently feed the queen small sugars AND protein weekly. When workers arrive, continue to feed sugars and protein regularly.
Queen size: 15mm
Worker size: 15mm
One of the many bull ant variants found across Australia, When kept in captivity, it is important to provide a naturalistic set-up. They require a form of substrate — typically red sand or dirt — in order for their larva to weave their cocoons, and we recommend they are provided with a lot of space to forage and a diverse diet. Raising a colony is a very long process that requires a great deal of care. These ants have a fierce sting and are very territorial, fiercely defending their nest and chasing intruders for a considerable distance.
Very good merchant, ants are in good condition. Recommended
My beautiful queen arrived quick and safe. Including brood and a worker hatched on the way. Very good condition
Received my queen in one day, she looks fine with the larvae👍🙏
Healthy and active, however was missing tarsus on rear left leg. Not affecting her care of larvae.
